Definition of Fitness

Fitness is defined as "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." according to the article Fitness & Health. This is broken down into these categories
  • Strength - Exp: Holding or restraining an object or person
  • Power - Exp: Jumping or a sprint start
  • Agility - Exp:  A juke in a Football game
  • Balance -  Exp: Walking on a beam
  • Flexibility - Exp: Doing the Splits
  • Local Muscle Endurance - Exp: Rowing or cycling
  • Cardiovascular Endurance - Exp: Cross country
  • Strength Endurance - Exp: Continuous explosive rebounding through an entire basketball game
  • Co-ordination- Exp: The ability to integrate the above listed components so that effective movements are achieved.
 This is just the physical aspect of fitness we also must relize that total fitness in all has to do with Mental, and Social health as well. WE can eat healthy and workout as much as we want but number of things can play a major role in on our fitness, one of the biggest factor is stress which everyone could probably stand to loose.
